About Me !

As a graduate from Teesside University, (Bsc. Hons Sports Therapy) and a member of the Society of Sports Therapy (www.society-of-sports-therapists.org), I specialise in soft tissue and sporting injuries and rehabilitation – with the aim of rehabilitating patients back to functional fitness in the shortest possible time.Amanda Tooke

Supporting patients from injury to full rehabilitation – including aerobic training, core stability and balance, proprioception and strength training.

My qualifications include soft tissue techniques, ultrasound, kinesio taping. trigger point therapy, remedial and sports massage, specialist back treatments, mobilisations, physical therapy and pilates.  I am also a qualified Pitch Side Sports First Aider and work pitch side on a Saturday with the Ellesmere Port Rugby Union Club and have previous experience of working with a semi professional football club. My sporting arena experience extends to working with tri-athletes, marathon runners, competitive road cyclists, rugby players, footballers, hurdlers and swimmers, to name but a few sports people.

Whilst sporting injuries is a specialism, non-sporting injury management is also an area of focus and expertise. Working with patients with migraines, whiplash cases, general strains and muscular spasms and RSIs. Supporting patients with pain management, mobility, joint restriction/mobilisation and chronic muscular spasms.

Qualified to teach Rehabilitative pilates (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) many of the treatment plans may include pilates, but I also hold small group sessions at the Whitby Sports and Social Club – with an individual focus core stability, balance and strength training.
